About NAMI Family Support Group

NAMI Family Support Group in Atlanta for family members and/or support circles of loved ones experiencing mental health issues or who is in full recovery.

The Family Support Group operates differently than other, more traditional “share and care” groups. The Support Group Model offers a set of key structures, and group processes for facilitators to use with common support group scenarios.

The structure of the new model feels comfortable for both seasoned and less experienced facilitators. The model guides the facilitators along in every situation. Participants are welcome to share as much or as little of their stories and the emphasis is on the, “here and now“.

This group is for family members and/or support circle that support the love one experiencing mental health issues or who is in full recovery. A place where you receive support and realize you are not alone trying to come to terms and cope with the challenges that life has brought you.

Absolute confidentiality is adhered to and practiced.

Testimonials

The first time I attended I did not know what to expect; all I knew is I did not want to feel alone anymore. I left feeling a sense of connection and a sense of profound hope. ~ Anonymous
