Crisis Intervention Teams for Youth (CIT-Y) Virtual Train the Trainer

CIT-Y is a law enforcement-based, crisis-response and diversion strategy in which specially trained law enforcement officers respond to calls involving adolescents experiencing behavioral health crises.

This free 8-week training is self-paced virtual learning with 5 interactive Zoom events taught by experts.

Participants will learn to administer CIT-Y’s 6 modules which covers the following topics:

  • Adolescent development
  • Common behavioral health conditions among justice-involved youth
  • Child trauma and its impact on youth development and behavior
  • The family experience and what officers can do to support families
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation
  • Connecting to resources
